关于commuter school

看到很多国外评价学校网站上经常有人说某学校是commuter school, 不知道这里commuter是啥意思？
像这样：
This school is not a party school. Doesn't offer many extracurricular activities. The advertising for events are terrible. Living on campus is not a good choice. The food they serve you is terrible, halfway cooked and lacking flavor. Dorms are very strict. More of a COMMUTER SCHOOL. I consider it a city college, not comparable to a university.
