NEWLY LAUNCHED PROFESSIONAL MASTER'S PROGRAM IN COMPUTER SCIENCES Department of Computer Sciences University of Wisconsin, Madison cs.wisc.edu Application deadline: March 15, 2015 for enrollment in Fall 2015If you are a working professional in the U.S. or abroad who wants to pursue an M.S. degree in computer sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the new Professional Master's Program (PMP) is for you. The application deadline is March 15, 2015. Accepted students will begin the program in Fall 2015 on the beautiful UW-Madison campus. They will join 30+ PMP students already on the campus (who arrived in Fall 2014, the first semester that the PMP was offered).A student taking two courses per semester can finish the PMP within two years. The program is designed such that two courses per semester constitute a manageable workload for a working professional who attends the PMP part time. (Of course, both international and domestic students are welcome to attend the PMP full time.) The CS department do not provide any guaranteed financial aid, but PMP students can seek financial aid (such as research/teaching/project assistantship) anywhere on the campus (including within the CS department).The Department of Computer Sciences is a top-ranked department in theU.S., and Madison is a lovely city situated among four lakes, withrecreational opportunities abound. In recent years, numerous high-techcompanies and startups have set up shop in Madison (recent additionsinclude research and development labs from Google, Microsoft, Redhat,and Walmart). An important measure of an academic program is thesuccess of its graduates. Our M.S. graduates in particular are highlysought after. They have interned at many high-tech companies such asGoogle, Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft, and many of them have receivedjob offers even after the first year of studies.
