PhD position at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
Research field: materials science, energy conversion, thin film deposition
We are looking for a self-motivated PhD student passionate on experiments-based materials science research focusing on energy conversion and thin film deposition.
About our research group:
Our group research is focused on synthesizing low-dimensional materials, including transition metal and perovskite compounds, characterizing their electronic, optoelectronic and ionic properties, and applying these materials in neuromorphic and energy-related systems.
About RPI:
RPI is a private research university located in the capital area of the New York state. It is the oldest technological university in the English-speaking world. In 2014, RPI was ranked 42th among national universities in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report. Its Materials Science and Engineering program was ranked 19th nationwide.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate shall have a strong passion and interest on materials science research and be strongly self-motivated in the future research. A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or other related fields is required for the candidate. The successful candidate shall start in the fall of 2015 or earlier.
