In engineering school, a professor can hire a student freely as long as the professor has funding. However, in business school, the student is paid by the department rather than by a professor. Therefore, the students are hired by an admission committee rather than by any particular faculty. I am happy to have a student like you but I can only recommend you in front of the committee but cannot make a decision to hire you. But I will believe you will have a very high chance.
