I'm sorry to inform you that you will not be offered admission to the Cornell University's Ph.D. program for Fall 2015. With a combined total of more than 500 applications to the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, we admitted only 12% of the applicant pool. While recognizing that we must deny many qualified applicants, the faculty endeavors to choose applicants they feel are the best match for our program. We wish you the best with whatever next year brings.
