Thank you for your application to the graduate program in the Department of Sport Management at Florida State University. After reviewing your application, our Graduate Committee has determined that you have great merit and we are very interested in having you in our program. Your TOEFL, verbal and writing scores on the GRE, unfortunately, did not meet the department minimum requirement. Because we believe that you are such an excellent candidate, however, we would like to conditionally admit you for enrollment in the Department of Sport Management for the spring semester (beginning January 2016). We will offer you full admission once your English skills improve. In order to do this, we would like you to enroll in English language courses at Center for Intensive English Studies (CIES) at FSU for at least two seven week sessions (during the 2015 fall semester). We will offer you full admission for spring 2016 semester; provided that we receive a letter of recommendation from the Center for Intensive English Studies stating that you have met CIES requirements and have successfully completed two sessions at the center. Please contact the Center for Intensive English Studies, at (850) 644-4797, or for more information, please visit their website at mail.qq.com, where you will find their online application. We have found that international students who attend CIES have better language skills and are better oriented to the graduate level styles in American universities when they begin their study. You can also e-mail Dr. Patrick Kennell at mail.qq.com or Peggy Gary at mail.qq.com for more information. Finally, I would personally like to express my admiration for your decision to pursue graduate studies and your selection of FSU's Department of Sport Management. Thus, I hope that you consider enrolling at the Center for Intensive English Studies so that we can have the chance to provide you with the graduate education you desire. Moreover, if you have any questions regarding your status, please call me directly at (850) 644-0577.

Sincerely,
