[align="left"]Dr. Wei Gao from the Department of Electrical Engineeringand Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK) isseeking outstanding candidates to fill multiple PhD student positions startingfrom the Spring or Fall 2016 semester. Recruited PhD students will receive fullfinancial support.[/align]
[align="left"]Dr. Wei Gao is doing cutting-edge research in the design,analysis, and implementation of emerging wireless networking and mobilecomputing systems. More specifically, his research aims to develop efficientwireless network protocols, mobile software systems and hardware components forvarious computing platforms, ranging from smartphones and wearable devices, tosmart vehicles, smart home appliances, and implantable medical devices. He haspublished more than 40 papers at many top-tier venues such as ACM MobiHoc, IEEEINFOCOM, IEEE ICNP, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEETransactions on Mobile Computing, etc. His work on social-aware multicast isone of the most influential research in the area of mobile opportunisticnetworks and has been cited more than 400 times in the past 3 years. [align="left"]Applicants of all relevant majors including ComputerScience, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, etc, are encouragedto apply.
