我在UMich看到需要准备一份PS和一份SoP.
在PS中是这么要求的：
What is a personal statement?
A personal statement is required. Some suggested topics for your personal statement are: volunteer and/or community service; extra-curricular activities; leadership activities; educational, cultural, geographic or socio-economic background underrepresented in your discipline of graduate study; financial hardship; first generation U.S. citizen or first generation in family to graduate from a four-year college.
我发现PS是非学术相关，而SoP是学术相关的阐述。
那么我想知道，我申Ph.D.有必要描述例如我家很困难，父母没上过学等之类的信息吗？
