UMass Lowell机械工程系 Structural Dynamics and Acoustic Systems Lab (SDASL, formerly Modal Analysis and Controls Lab, MACL)

PhD Assistantship Opening # 1: Digital Signal and Image Processing for Damage Detection
Preferred Start Date: Immediately Available
The researcher in this position will develop advanced signal and image processing algorithms for operational damage detection and identification. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and interest in time-frequency domain signal and image processing techniques as well as on data compression and storage. Experience with Matlab and/or C (or similar) programming languages will be instrumental. Machine learning algorithm development will also be a part of this project. Contact Prof.Murat Inalpolat at 1point3acres.com with your updated resume, if interested.

PhD Assistantship Opening # 2: Automotive Transmission Dynamics and Noise Modeling
Preferred Start Date: Immediately Available
The researcher in this position will develop and utilize analytical and computational tools for vibration/noise modeling and suppression from automotive automatic transmissions. Experience with advanced dynamics, elastic and rigid multibody dynamics, contact mechanics and Matlab programming language is essential for this position. This researcher will also be expected to design and build a laboratory scale transmission test rig for experimental benchmarking. Contact Prof.Murat Inalpolat at 1point3acres.com with your updated resume.
