催出来的拒信？？

昨晚好不容易给之前套磁过的一个教授发邮件，询问自己申请怎么样了。结果今早收到回复如下：

Hi xx,

Each year we receive about a thousand applications from some of the
most qualified researchers in the world. Unfortunately, we do not have
space for even the very best amongst this elite group, and sadly we
cannot offer you a position at the moment. Best wishes, and good luck
with your search.

我没看明白。好难过。求各位同学帮我看看到底是什么情况。他说we难道是指committee?所以就是committee已经把我拒咯？

对了，在一两周之前，那个学校有个ap联系过我说要面试。不过不是我在sop里面提到的想跟的老师，而且方向也不是我感兴趣的（或者说她的方向跟我经历只有一点点关系）。我询问具体时间后，她就没回复我了。。
