1st Rej from Oceanography at UW-Seattle

半小时前收到的邮件。UW的海洋学算是小众专业中的顶级项目，只发全奖PhD。虽然研究内容相似，但工科背景要转过去被拒也不奇怪。
套磁的时候Prof.回应还挺positive的。项目说2月底出结果，结果这么早就拒信了，interesting。

拒信里摘一段话：We weigh the qualifications of each applicant relative to all other applicants, paying particular attention to: (1) breadth of undergraduate curriculum in science and mathematics, and accomplishments as indicated by grades, (2) letters of recommendation, (3) GRE scores, and (4) the statement of educational and professional objectives, including compatibility of those objectives with our research programs. The top applicants to our graduate program are outstanding in all four categories.

感觉跪在了大一没好好刷的数学课以及GRE Verbal没到160。美国海洋学各大项目的平均Verbal都很高，而且往往没有中国人。
Anyway，还是好好看Civil的项目好了。现在Civil十多名的学校跟我讲估计我不会去他们学校，再高的又很难进去，也是挺麻烦的。
