To be admitted as a PhD or DPhD student, in general Purdue ME requires a faculty to support your PhD work. This process is very much a one-on-one matching process of student skills and interest to available projects and needs.
Thus, faculty with available Research Assistant (RA) positions are reviewing your application and may contact you directly to set up interviews by phone or Skype. The Admissions Committee are also considering strong candidates for fellowships, with recommendations from faculty. To facilitate this process, we strongly encourage you to also reach out directly to faculty with whom you would be interested in working.
For those applying to our direct PhD program, your strong background does qualify you to be admitted as a Master's Candidate, which has both thesis and non-thesis options. If you do not find funding by April 15, we will process your application to our Master's programs and hope that you continue to network with our faculty to find a research position later.
