AlexaWho We Are: We are a team of scientists and developers working on audio, speech and language solutions that will revolutionize how customers interact with Amazon’s products and services. What we do: Our mission is to push the envelope in automatic speech recognition (ASR), natural language understanding (NLU), and audio signal processing in order to provide the best possible experience for our customers. Products such as FireTV and Dash are illustrative of the user-delighting spoken language understanding solutions Amazon is building. What we're looking for: We are a rapidly growing team and are looking for passionate, entrepreneurial research scientists and engineers who have deep expertise in speech recognition, language understanding and audio processing. We also have openings for research managers who have a proven track record of managing and mentoring research scientists. Come be a part of a fast paced team where you can make a difference in millions of people's lives!
Subscribe and SaveCustomers around the world love Subscribe & Save for the convenience and savings. The Subscribe & Save program allows Amazon customers to sign up for regular deliveries on products they routinely use, such as diapers, vitamins, coffee, nutrition bars, and paper towels. Amazon gives subscribers up to 20% off of their Subscribe & Save orders, plus free shipping. Today, we offer Subscribe & Save ordering on grocery, health and personal care, and office products, and we're constantly looking for opportunities to expand this feature to other types of products.

Amazon LogisticsAmazon.com stores and sells millions of unique items worldwide through its Fulfillment Centers (FCs). These items are shipped from tens of thousands of vendors into the many FCs in the Amazon network. We need different quantities of each of these items, we need to pick them up from the vendors at different times, and bring it into the FCs at specific times depending on the priority of the items. Each item has different dimensions, volume and weight and hence is associated with different shipping costs. What we end up with is a gigantic graph, with the nodes being vendors, carrier hubs, Amazon.com FCs and end customers. The arcs in this graph represent the time of transportation and cost of transportation. Each node has a specific capacity, and so does each arc, and there are time constraints on when a product needs to ship out of a node and when it needs to come into a different node. And we need to do all of this while incurring the least cost.
