Multiple fully funded Ph.D. positions (with tuition waiver and nation-wide competitive stipend) are available starting Immediately/Spring2017/Fall2017 in the Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly UM-Rolla).
The research areas of these positions are generally related to real-time systems, real-time scheduling theory, cyber-physical systems, neural networks and their applications to power system, unmanned aerial vehicles, and transportation. Note that many conferences in these research areas are held in Europe, and students normally receive full support to attend them when they have paper accepted.

Required qualifications:
(1) B.S. degree in computer science, math, statistics, or a B.E. degree in related (engineering) field
(2) Strong background in either theory or system (e.g., Linux, GPGPU programming) implementation
(3) Good writing and communication skills
(4) Proficiency in some of the basic programming languages, such as MATLAB, C/C++, Python, etc.

Preferred qualifications:
(1) M.S. degree
(2) Previous research experience on related areas and/or with a publication record

Dr. Zhishan Guo is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Prof. Sanjoy K. Baruah. Prior to that, he received the M. Phil. Degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong with Prof. Jun Wang, and the B.E. degree in Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. Zhishan dedicates his life as a researcher, mentor, and teacher.
