Prof. Tao Shu in the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at Auburn University is looking for multiple highly self-motivated Ph.D. students to join his Wireless Networking and Security (WINGS) Lab in the Spring and Fall of 2017. The research areas include: (1) wireless networking, including mmWave networking, HetNets, cognitive radio networks, and network economics for spectrum sharing; (2) cyber security and privacy, including wireless security and privacy, secure and privacy-preserving computation, data security and privacy; and (3) mobile computing and mobile systems.
An ideal candidate should be highly self-motivated in pursuing his/her Ph.D. degree and dedicated to the excellence of research. An earned master degree in CS, EE, CE, or a closely-related area is preferred. Other desired qualifications include strong mathematical skills (e.g., probability theory, stochastic process, and optimization) and solid background in wireless communication and networking. Prior research experience in wireless networking and/or cybersecurity is not required but will be a big plus. Strong programming and system development skill is also a plus.
