Dr. Tian Xia is currently an associate professor in Department of Electrical Engineering at University of Vermont, Burlington, VT, USA. He has been conducting reseach funded by various funding agencies, including NSF, NASA, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), U.S.DoT (Department of Transportation), ONR (Office of Naval Research), ARL (Army Research Laboratory), AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory), VTrans (Vermont Transportation Agency), IBM, SPAKR-VT, UVM Clean Energy Fund, etc. Specifically, Dr. Xia is interested in the following research topics:
- Mixed Signal VLSI Circuit Design and Test
- Microwave and Radio Frequency Circuit/System for Subsurface Sensing
- Radar system design and radar signal processing
- Reconfigurable Computing

Announcement:

We recently received several new grants to support our researches on: 1) Cognitive ground penetrating radar for smart city underground utilities survey and mapping; 2). Ka-band software defined radio for formation flying small satellite communication and ranging. There are several openings for students to explore cognitive radar circuit design, radar signal processing, and Ka-band RF circuit design and test.
