Dr. Wei Gao will be joining the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (UPitt) as an Associate Professor in Fall 2017, and is seeking outstanding candidates to fill multiple PhD student positions starting from the Spring 2018 or Fall 2018 semester. Recruited PhD students will receive full financial support during their entire PhD studies.
Dr. Wei Gao is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of EECS, University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK). He is doing pioneering research in the design, analysis, and implementation of wireless networking, embedded and mobile computing systems, ranging from the existing smartphones and wearable devices to the emerging Virtual Reality and Internet of Things systems. His research also utilizes multiple tools of data mining and deep learning, which allow the embedded and mobile devices to precisely learn human behavior patterns and behave accordingly. His work, therefore, involves many collaborations with industry partners on commercial products and creates various opportunities for students’ internships and full-time jobs after graduation. He is a NSF CAREER Award winner, and has published more than 50 papers at top-tier conferences and journals.
