Thank you for your interest. I encourage you to submit a formal application to our graduate environmental engineering program. At Yale, graduate school admission is very competitive and decided by committees at both department (Chemical and Environmental Engineering) and school (Engineering and Applied Science) levels. Unlike some other schools, the recruitment decision cannot be made by a single faculty member.
Once admitted, all Ph.D. students will receive University Fellowship for the first one year which covers tuition and stipend. During this first year, students can decide their research advisors and, if needed, switch advisors. Full financial support throughout Ph.D. is guaranteed in environmental engineering program. I would be interested in working with you, if you are admitted to our program. If you are interested in working with me, please mention my name in your statement so that your application can be properly categorized.
