The research team is currently developing neural-machine interfaces and advanced control for powered artificial limbs and seeking for applicants in Rehabilitation Engineering.
The successful candidates will participate in developing and implementing neural-machine interfaces and advanced control system for powered upper- or lower-limb prosthetics. The candidates are also expected to work with prosthetists and physical therapists to evaluate the system on limb amputees.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have (1) a Ph.D. in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering with relevant experiences, (2) are proficient in the field(s) of robotics design and control, EMG and EEG analysis, algorithm development, or biomechanics (human gait and balance), (3) have strong programming skills in C/C++/LabView/MATLAB and system integration skills for real-time implementation. The candidates with previous research experiences in prosthetics and orthotics, dynamic modeling of human gait or balance, neural-machine interfaces based on EMG or EEG signals, machine learning, embedded system design, or virtual reality will be preferred.
