申UCI统计PHD的童鞋不用等了，他家给我的回复是
I'm afraid your application didn't make it to the short list. We can only afford to support one or two foreign students a year, and one of our MS students who was doing better than current Ph.D. students in our Ph.D. level courses was admitted already, leaving the possibility of only one slot. We actually expect, since we have many excellent domestic applicants, that we may only admit domestic applicants for the remaining slots.
应该事先问清楚再申的，sigh。。。
