小宝去不了大LA了

刚刚问出来的一封拒信。因为uiuc那边要求4.15做决定，而我又很想去加州，今天中午饭前鼓起勇气给UCLA的Steve Arbuckle 小秘发了封邮件问结果，然后吃完饭回来就收到了回复，这会应该是她们的周日晚上吧，工作好辛苦。一直心心念的LA梦就这么破碎了。
把邮件贴出来，希望能对大家有一点点用。。。

Thank you for your continued interest in UCLA. I am sorry but you will not be offered admission. Official email notices will be emailed to you from the Graduate Division in the next 1-2 business days. The decision is a reflection of the quality of the applicant pool. You are among the strong candidates who were not offered admission, as the number of outstanding applicants is much more than the number of available seats. Over 1110 PhD applicants were considered for about 90 available seats.
Admission decisions are based on the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, academic history, research and/or industry experience, and test scores. It is a difficult task shaping a class as well, as we have 8 fields of interest that we attempt to round out each year.

我申的ms，不知为何她跟我提phd的，可能只是举个例子吧。最后提到8 fields那点没怎么看懂，但感觉录取结果和申请时选的field有一定关系的。
ucla的竞争确实激烈，太热门了。被拒得心服口服~~
