请教DevOps(Development Operations)部门主要是干什么的呢？对以后的发展有好处么？

小弟拿到了SAP full-time Intern的offer，前几天报过了。是DevOps team。不太清楚进去以后主要是干什么工作，问了未来的boss，得到的答复如下，
This particular position is part of our Development Operations (DevOps) team that is integral to the building of non-traditional SAP applications in Sports, Healthcare, Retail and Consumer Products. Quality Assurance (QA) is not a significant portion of this assignment but performance management/testing could be. The technologies span mobile,analytics, cloud, in-memory database, 3-D rendering, Java, Javascript, Linux, Windows and a host of other areas of infrastructure and computing. Core to each area of endeavor is a keen understanding of Linux (SuSE, primarily) and Windows systems administration.
看了以后还是有点一头雾水。。是说主要做测试么？有没有大神解答一下DevOps部门主要的职能呢。对以后的跳槽有利么？
