About us:
Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is among the nation's leading private research institutions. Founded in 1826, CWRU is distinguished by its strengths in education, research, service, and experiential learning. CWRU School of Medicine (SOM) is ranked nationwide in the top 25 research medical schools and in the top 20 for research funding from the National Institutes of Health. The SOM's research program began in 1887 and since then, faculty and alumni have accomplished major achievements in the medical field. The successful candidate will have chances to work with researchers in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC), Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (CADRC), Case Western Reserve University for AIDS Research (Case CFAR), and The Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Center.

Program Description:
The research goal of our team is to utilize data-driven approach and statistical methods to translate the large medical data from benchwork to knowledge in precision medicine. We aim to integrate state-of-art biotechnologies with various types of data science to make biomedical discoveries. The successful candidate will be actively engaged in statistical methodology development and/or applied collaborative research in biostatistics and quantitative health. This program offers candidates with career opportunities in advancing biomedical data analytics and project management skills. Preference will be given to candidates with solid training in statistical modeling and programming, and excellent communication and scientific writing skills. Candidates will receive research training in linear models, hypothesis testing, Bayesian analysis, variable selection, nonparametric models, data science, machine learning, tree-based methods, data science, Cancer research, multi-omics, Alzheimer’s disease, and neuroscience, etc.

Qualifications:
1. The candidate should have a recent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, computer science or related field.
2. Proficiency in R and/or python or other languages.

3. Experience in using High-Performance Computing, but not required.
4. Self-motivation to pick up new skills.
5. Fluency in English speaking and writing.

Salary Range: $37, 000
Visa: If needed, we will work with University’s Immigration Office to obtain the appropriate visa for employment.
