 I. STATEMENT OF RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher with expertise in experimental cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry to join our team. Our research has focused on the molecular mechanisms of chronic inflammation in obesity-related metabolic diseases, as well as identification of nutraceuticals or molecular therapeutics to suppress such chronic inflammation. The qualified candidate will utilize standard cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and omics approaches, as well experimentation with mouse disease models. The postdoctoral fellow will present data and findings at departmental seminars and scientific meetings, prepare manuscripts, and contribute preliminary data for grant proposals. 
II. TECHNICAL SKILLS
-Experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture and standard biochemical techniques is required
-Experience in mouse disease models is highly desirable
-Experience in bioinformatic analyses of omics data is preferred
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise laboratory technicians and student trainees in experimental design, execution, and data analysis of a variety of projects.
IV. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 - Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, or related discipline.
- A background in inflammation and metabolic diseases is highly preferred.
- The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
