Dr. Ying Lin with the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston is seeking PhD students starting in Fall 2018. The prospective students will receive doctoral level financial support (20000/year) and tuition waiver.
The research interests of Dr. Lin’s group lie at the interaction of data analytics, quality engineering and healthcare. Her group focuses on the following research directions:
Statistical learning and data mining: multi-source data analysis, spatial and temporal data analysis, data driven decision making.
Quality engineering: system modeling and prognostics, selective sensing.
Medical decision making: personalized medicine, disease prevention, monitoring and treatment.
The prospective students are expected to have strong backgrounds in mathematics, analytics and programming.

Dr. Ying Lin joined the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2017. She received her PhD degree in the Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Washington and Bachelor degree in Statistics from the University of Science and Technology in China.
