The Computational 3D - 4D - 5D Manufacturing research lab is recruiting two motivated and collaborative Ph.D. students in Mechanical Engineering (focused on advanced manufacturing and computational mechanics through machine learning) with a full scholarship as a Research Assistant or Teaching Assistant at University of North Texas (UNT).
The students will work under Dr. Xinyi Xiao’s advice and supervision.
Funding
A research/teaching assistantship will fund these positions with a tuition covered, monthly stipends, and benefits.
Required minimum qualification and skills
; BS degree from mechanical, industrial, civil, computer and/or aerospace engineering-related discipline, or similar fields, better with a master’s degree.
; Excellent writing, communication, hands-on and CAD software, FEA computation, and programming skills.
; Strong commitment to publishing and presenting research findings.
; Strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive environment.

Preferred qualifications and skills (one or more of the below)
; Excellent modeling, simulation, and programming (e.g., Python) skills.
; Experience with integrated digital delivery or digital project delivery.
; Excellent data collection (e.g., additive manufacturing processes, mechanical property experiments) and statistical analysis skills.
