It is a pleasure to notify you thatyou are academically eligible for admission to the University of Nebraska-LincolnGraduate Studies forFall Semester 2011. The Graduate Committeeof Computer Science has approved you for the Doctor of Philosophy program. However, we are not yet able to issue your Certificate of Admissionbecause we have not received information regarding funding for your study.
In order to complete your admissionto UNL and enable you to apply for a student visa, we need to receive currentproof of the financial resources available to you to cover your expenseswhile you are a student at UNL. Upon submission of satisfactory financialinformation, our office will promptly issue you a Certificate of Admissionas well as the Form I-20 or DS-2019. If you are unable to completethis requirement in time to arrive for the term indicated above,the admission will be renewable for the next academic semester.
If you have requested to be consideredfor a teaching or research assistantship in the department, please stayin contact with the department. If you do not receive funding fromthe department, it will be necessary for you to provide: (1) evidence ofavailable funds amounting to at least $30,395 to cover two semesters oftuition, fees and living expenses; and (2) assurances that similar amountswill be accessible to you for the duration of your program. Master'sstudents need to show two years of support; doctoral students need to showfour years of support. Study and living expenses for optional summerenrollment would be additional. Other optional additional expensesare $6,600 for an adult dependent per year and $3,300 per child.
