Job description
We are actively seeking outstanding candidates to fill in Ph.D. positions with full RA support.
Ph.D. students will work on topics of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet-of-Things
(IoT) with focuses on security, safety, real-time, and AI, developing formal and machine
learning methods, addressing applications including autonomous vehicles and drones. We highly
encourage enthusiastic and self-motivated graduate students to apply.
Requirement
Applicants from majors of computers science, computer engineering, electrical engineering (e.g.,
communication and control), information security, or relevant majors, are encouraged to apply.

Dr. Fanxin Kong
Dr. Kong is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and
Engineering at University of Notre Dame. His research interests include security, safety, real-
time, and AI for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet-of-Things (IoT). His research
techniques include machine learning, formal methods, control, optimization, algorithm design,
and game theory. Dr. Kong has published over 65 research papers at major highly reputable
venues, including RTSS, RTAS, IoTDI, ICCPS, EMSOFT, DAC, Infocom, etc. Dr. Kong is
serving as the Information Director of ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems
(SIGBED). He has served as general chair, session chairs, organizing and program committee
members for many workshops and conferences.
