ISU ECpE: Fully-funded Ph.D. Positions with Dr. Shuang Li

Position Description: Dr. Shuang Li is inviting applications for several Ph.D. student positions in the research area of Signal Processing, Machine Learning, and Data Science for Spring/Fall 2024 entry. Successful applicants will join the Ph.D. program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University.

About Dr. Li: Shuang Li serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU). Prior to her current position, she was a Hedrick Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (with a minor in Computational & Applied Math) from the Colorado School of Mines. Her research primarily focuses on leveraging the low-dimensional structures such as sparsity, low-rankness, and smoothness existed in high-dimensional data in order to develop optimization-based techniques and provide optimality guarantees for fundamental problems in Signal Processing and Machine Learning. Some of her recent research directions include convex and non-convex optimization, game theory, and tensor analysis. She was the recipient of the DARPA Riser Award in 2022, and CPAL Rising Stars Award in 2024.
