FIVE fully supported GRA positions are immediately available at the power-aware computer systems (PACS) lab in ECE at The Ohio State University (OSU) for self-motivated students to pursue Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering. Our lab recently received multiple NSF grants to do cutting-edge research on Cloud Computing, Mobile Computing, and Real-time Embedded Systems.

For cloud computing, we manage the resources of a large number of GPUs to more efficiently process machine learning or deep learning workloads. For mobile computing, we apply machine learning algorithms to improve the performance and energy efficiency of mobile devices, like smartphones or IoT devices. For real-time embedded systems, it is about how to schedule real-time applications, such as autonomous driving tasks, on embedded GPUs to meet real-time deadlines.

All interested students are encouraged to apply, though those students who have prior experience in GPU resource management or software bug diagnosis might receive preference. Although the deadline for Fall 2024 admission in ECE@OSU is 03/01/24, students are strongly suggested to apply as early as possible for full consideration of the GRA positions. Interested students please directly contact the professor, who is an IEEE Fellow.
