Yazhou Tu is an assistant professor in the department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University since January 1st, 2024. Prior to joining Auburn University, he worked at the Wireless and Embedded Device Security lab at University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2022. Yazhou received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2021. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University in 2013 and master's degree from Tsinghua University in 2016, both in software engineering. His research focuses on cyber-physical system security, sensing and embedded system security, side-channel signal analysis, and privacy. His papers were published at USENIX Security Symposium, ACM CCS, RAID, ASIACCS, etc.

Research highlights: Billions of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) rely on sensor-enabled environment perception. Intelligent and autonomous CPSs, such as robotic systems, intelligent manufacturing systems, autonomous vehicles, and medical devices, are rapidly emerging. Dr. Tu's research investigates how the security and safety of CPSs require threat models and computations resilient to the complex physical world. Google Scholar: scholar.google.com
