We are seeking applicants for 2 PhD positions starting Fall 2015. Qualified students will be provided with full tuition, benefit and monthly salary stipend.

Summary of Research:
Students will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge experimental research in the areas of nanomaterials and nanotechnology for applications in Energy Storage ( Lithium-ion batteries, Sodium-ion batteries, Electrochemical capacitors) and Energy Harvesting (Photovoltaic system, Piezoelectric system). Specifically, students will be involved in energy materials synthesis & characterization, energy device fabrication and testing, etc. Our lab is located next to the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory and provides a stimulating environment for energy-relative research.

Preferred qualifications:
1. M.S. or B.S. students with solid backgrounds in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
2. Previous experience on electrochemistry and/or MEMS/NEMS is a plus but not a must.
3. Being self-motivated and responsible is a must.
4. Good communication skills are preferred.
