As part of our commitment to ensuring your success in the graduate program, we are pleased to
offer you an initial one-year fellowship that is reserved for a very limited number of Ph.D.
applicants. The Florian Solzbacher and Xiaoxin Chen Graduate Fellowship will provide for
support during your first year at a level of $25,000/year. In addition to the fellowship, you will
receive an 11 credit hour per semester tuition benefit with a value of $23,870/year, and
subsidized graduate student health insurance subsidized at 80% for a single student valued at
approximately $1,521/year. The total value of this offer is $50,391/year. Continuation of the
support is contingent upon satisfactory progress in the Ph.D. program, subject to the rules and
conditions of the University of Utah Graduate School, and subject to the availability of funds.
