We are inviting postdoctoral applications to join Dr. Yuchen Liu’s laboratory atLSU to study Methanococcus maripaludis with a focus on cellular responses tosulfur and iron-limitations. Specific responsibilities include establish andmaintain cell cultures in chemostat; perform qPCR to study specific generegulations; conduct RNA-seq and ribosomal profiling with next-generationsequencing techniques to study global transcriptional and translationalregulations; perform enzyme activity assays and analyze small molecules tostudy metabolic regulations; prepare manuscripts; assist PI with thedevelopment of funding proposals and mentoring of students. This positionprovides an excellent training opportunity in microbial physiology, genetics,and systems biology.[/align][align="left"]
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. inMicrobiology, Biochemistry, or Systems Biology[/align][align="left"]
[/align][align="left"]Preferred Qualifications: a highly self-motivated individualwith strong background in microbiology, biochemistry, or systems biology; experiencewith anaerobic microbes is preferred; experience with qPCR and next-generationsequencing techniques; experience with analytical tools such as HPLC, MassSpec, and EPR; strong verbal and written communication skills.[/align][align="left"]
