MS.AD[stat@UIUC] evaluation

Call for MS.K.
I just Got my first ad from UIUC for spring 12 in stat.(NO THESIS)stat.uiuc.edu
I heard this department isn't really good..
Any advices opinions?

What I know:

Research NRC ranking 27
Best statistics by US news 33
Undergrad 45
location: really a small town(i don't like it,:()

1)how is the placement,anyone knows?
2)I scan through the courses, not really exciting.
