教授几周前给了口头的admission，但是依旧恐惧

申请的是uiowa的computer science master...
背景大致是，在Iowa附近上的大学（cs major), 一年半的美国工作经验, gpa: 3.06 (major: 3.26)
只申请了uiowa...
两个星期以前去套辞， 得到的回复如下：
We are about to *start* evaluating the MCS applicants and expect to finish in 2 weeks. So you should hear from us around March 23rd. Even though I cannot be certain until the graduate committee has looked at your application, it seems to me that you are a strong student and therefore it is quite likely that you will be admitted to the MCS program.
但是到现在还没有消息。。。已经在地里看见有人昨天被录了。。。
请问老师的口头承诺是不是不能太当真啊。。。这个教授貌似是director of cs grad program...
我觉得十分恐惧啊啊啊啊～～～求指教，求安慰

不是套辞。。就是问问什么时候出结果。。。说错拉。。。
