关于**/低G的解释（Extenuating Circumstances）

在填写某校网申，发现居然有这么一个地方可以写一个专门解释自己绩点低或者GRE成绩低的statement，系统上是这样写的：If your grades and/or test scores are not strong, and you would like to provide an explanation, please do so. (limit 1200 characters)
想问一下，是写还是不写好呢？（有没有之前遇到这种情况的同学呢？）
