[/align][align="left"]Dr. Zhenhui(Jessie) Li at Pennsylvania State University is looking for PhDstudents interested in data mining research. Our research group isexpanding in the coming year and have several students graduating inthe next year. So we currently have multiple openings for researchassistants. Data mining (a.k.a., data science, big data) is a fastgrowing research field in computer science. There is an increasingdemand in both industry and academia for researchers with data miningskills. [/align][align="left"]
[/align][align="left"]The group isfocused on mining spatiotemporal data with applications in humanmobility, urban computing, and environmental science. Our goal is todevelop novel, elegant and efficient data-driven approaches to solvechallenging real world problems. For more information related, pleasevisit faculty.ist.psu.edu[/align]
[align="left"]The Ph.D. studentpositions will be supported by full graduate scholarships (typicallyguaranteed for 5 years). Master students may also be supported byscholarships depending on the individual cases. Students withresearch interests in the areas of data mining, database, and machinelearning are encouraged to apply. The successful candidates shouldhave a solid programming background, and preferably also have astrong background in statistics, optimization, or/and mathematics.Relevant research, internship experience in school or research labsis a plus.
