关于CMU ECE托福要求的一句话

想申请2018fall的项目，火急火燎的准备了GRE和托福，GRE不怎么样但是不至于太拖后腿，T考的很烂（不到90）而且个别小分不满足要求。但我看官网上有这句话：TOEFL Test
All international applicants whose “native” language is not English must take the TOEFL Exam. A minimum overall score of 84, with minimum sub-scores of IBT-R 22, IBT-L 22, IBT-S 18, and IBT-W 22 are required. The scores must be received by the application deadline for the semester in which students are applying. The TOEFL is not required if the applicant has graduated from a U.S. university, or if the applicant is a CMU student or alum.
我有美硕学历学位，但毕业>3年了。于是问了下小米这种情况可否免托福，于是来了一封自动回复，里面写的是:
Please note that we require the IELTS or TOEFL from anyone whose native language is not English, unless the applicant will have graduated from a U.S. university at the time of enrollment, or if the applicant is a CMU student or alum.
这种是不是说只有从申请到录取之间在美国大学毕业的人才有资格免托福？硬申可以么？毕竟如果只是have graduated没说是最近一年graduated，我在google上查have graduated表示已经获得学位而已。
当然有人会和我说为啥不再考一次，一个是最近真没时间（年底工作很忙而且经常加班），一个是身体问题长时间考试会头疼耳鸣（我的听力啊。。。）所以GRE也好托福也好真不想再考了，太痛苦。。。大家见笑了
