[align="left"]Ph.D. Assistantship Positions Available for Fall 2018: [/align][align="left"]
[/align][align="left"]Dr. Chee-Keong Tan in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson University is seeking a PhD student (Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering) starting Fall 2018 and beyond. The research studies will be related to the field of solid-state materials and devices for applications such as solid state lighting, solar cells, and photodetectors. Highly motivated students are encouraged to apply[/align]
  1. A Master degree in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related majors is preferred;
  2. Positive attitude, willing to learn, hardworking, self-disciplined, respectful, optimistics;
  3. Strong interests in discovering new things, new knowledge;
  4. Solid education background in solid-state materials and devices is preferred, but are not required;
  5. Previous research experiences with solid-state materials and devices are preferred, but are not required;
  6. Excellent writing and communication skills are preferred, but are not required.

[/align][align="left"]Dr. Chee-Keong Tan received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2011 and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, United States in 2016 respectively. Since August 2016, he has been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Clarkson University. His research interests include the theoretical and experimental aspects in III-Nitride materials and devices, including new material discovery, device performance improvement and fundamental quantum processes in semiconductor materials and devices.
