关于USC的program之间有重合的选择问题

申ME的master，下面的项目有一个Mechanical Engineering (MS)，介绍说可选三个大方向，一个力学，一个制造，一个设计好像，然后又在进一步的说明网页里包括了更多的方向，比如Dynamics and Control等。然后这个项目包含的很多方向又有一个单独的program可以申请，比如有Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (Dynamics and Control) (MS)，是和上面的项目并列的，于是发邮件问学校，回复是general的项目可以转成specialization的，没有差别，只是更flexible……
然而等了三天才等到回复，我怕来不及就一起申请了两个项目……早知道直接申general的了，白花了90刀，心疼……

The general program is more flexible and a student could completely reproduce one of the specializations using it, create modified versions of those specializations, or develop something that meets specific needs and interests.
