【求助】OPT ext被拒，OPT已经过期，是否resubmit OPT extension申请？

OPT extension因为I-765没签字被拒，支票没有被cash，而且USCIS附了一张纸“You are invited to resubmit your application package after you have corrected the reasons of rejection When you resubmit your application, please enclose this letter with your re-submission.” 申请的时候附上了G1145，但是申请期间完全没收到通知，通过mail收到了OPT extension rejection letter和其他申请文件，但是已经过了OPT expiration date。
昨天去学校问了，学校说因为我的OPT过期了，如果现在resubmit很容易被拒，他们也不知道该怎么办，让我去找immigrantion lawyer。已经约好lawyer星期四见面，但是现在如坐针毡，这种情况到底该怎么办？？？？？应该直接resubmit opt extension application吗？
