交叉学科的暑期科研对以后申请本专业的master有帮助吗？

国内985 电气工程 大二下 想申请一个上海纽约大学有关神经科学的暑期本科生科研项目，想申请的实验室是有关视觉感知和行动的。从实验室的介绍来跟感觉我的专业还有一点交集，这个科研项目应是交叉学科的。
以后想去美国读EE的master，想请问一下这种跨学科的暑期科研对以后的申请会有帮助吗？
或者有没有什么比较好的暑期科研可以推荐？
