终于收到一封教授的回信了。求大神指导

我对他的一篇paper简单谈了谈想法，再问招不招人。他是这么回的：
Thanks for your interest in our group. The paper you are interested in was
sponsored by GM; unfortunately this work has been discontinued for a couple
of years. So I wish you best of luck in your pursuit elsewhere.
这个的意思是我完全没戏了？还是说有机会？
如果有机会，我是继续找他的文章，还是直接问他哪些项目有位置？。
请大神赐教~
