问一个关于H1B等待审批结果之前回国的问题

我目前在读一个certificate的课程，课程今年5月份结束，I20上的到期日是8月1号，F1身份无OPT, OPT几年前读master时被我浪费{:9_296:}，但非常幸运，读书期间接洽了一个雇主愿意为我申请H1B. 并且一抽竟然中了，现在状态是case was received.
暑假想回国啊，好几年没回去了，非常想家。但是律师说：

“You cannot leave the U.S. until a decision has been made on your H-1B petition, unfortunately. This is because we filed your H-1B petition as a change of status, per your request, and not as consular notification. If you leave the U.S. while the H-1B petition is pending, you will abandon the H-1B petition and USCIS will deny it.”
