The research focus of this lab is to develop new computational methodsand tools for intelligent/smart manufacturing systems using sensing and dataanalytics technologies. Example research thrust areas include (1) data-drivensmart manufacturing; (2) real-time manufacturing process monitoring,diagnostics, and prognostics; (3) reliability engineering and quality control;(4) cyber physical systems. Students with background in mechanicalengineering, material engineering, industrial engineering, electrical andcomputer engineering, applied math, or engineering mechanics are highlyencouraged to apply. Desired skills include manufacturing processes and systems,signal/image processing, machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, engineeringoptimization or engineering mechanics.
