Growth Mobile Team
About the tea
  • The team is helping our vast set of mobile users discover & realize value from Dropbox's paid plans, leading to long-term happy customers and increased mobile revenue for Dropbox. Example initiatives include building & launching trials to our paid plans, experiments to improve feature discovery or onboarding, etc. The team is responsible for integrating with the App Store and Dropbox's payment backends.

  • IC3, Mobile SWE — iOS, SF

The ideal candidate…
  • Experience, ability and interest to work in a fast-paced experiment-based environment in the area of customer growth, and initiative to help the team realize the big opportunity Dropbox has on mobile.

Discover & Expand
About the team
  • My team builds new fly wheels to help drive the growth of our Professional Users. Building and optimizing freemium versions of Smart Sync and Showcase. However my open role will be the Area Tech Lead for Customer Growth helping define the technical roadmap for the area and building new platforms to help accelerate Growth at Dropbox.

  • Staff Engineer — IC5, Fullstack SWE, SF

  • Staff level engineer with a background in building platforms or products. Growth experience is optional.

QA - Customer Growth
About the team
  • Customer Growth: Test strategy for user acquisition, upselling, and payments flows. Very web and mobile frontendy.

Role
  • L2 QA, SF, QA - Customer Growth

The ideal candidate…
  • QA engineer with great manual testing skills who is also able to get technically deep when necessary (they don't need to be a coder, though). Also should be good at thinking about testing and quality in a more"big picture" holistic and strategic way.

QA - CFS
About the team
  • CFS: Testing and test strategy for some risky and critical user-facing functionality, like camera uploads and restorations. Full stack with lots of backend and frontend and touching all platforms (web, mobile, desktop).

  • L3 QA, SF, QA - CFS

The ideal candidate…
  • QA engineer with great manual testing skills who is also able to get technically deep when necessary (they don't need to be a coder, though). Also should be good at thinking about testing and quality in a more"big picture" holistic and strategic way.

Onboarding & Intent
About the team
  • Focused on helping users discover the right paid plan and then on-boarding those users to get the most out of Dropbox. Our projects are typically large experiments that span large portion of our product and require tight cross team coordination. An example project we have on our roadmap is activating new users to our Business accounts across Web and Desktop. Since new users can start a Business trial without requiring a credit card, this project includes re-thinking surfaces such as our marketing pages, sign up forms, on-boarding flows, in product up-sells and downgrade funnel.

  • Focus on the impact of a project vs simply launching a product. Previous experience with data analysis, A/B experimentation, or on a Growth Team.

Cash Payments
About the team
  • Cash Payments brings in the money! The team is responsible for collecting money from our self-service customers through credit cards, PayPal, and other payment methods. It also has a big role to play in SOX and other compliance efforts. It involves heavy interaction with our finance, revenue analytics, compliance, CX and ITS teams. The team has a clear mandate and roadmap, and has been working very successfully together over the past few years.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making across teams, to set long-term technical strategy through sound architectural opinions targeting stability and flexibility. Ability to lead/mentor a cross-functional team in delivering on the long-term strategy, while also enabling short term business-critical outcomes successfully along the way.

  • The candidate must be a willing yet humble coach, capable of fostering a culture of technical excellence across a team of engineers of varying levels of experience, inspiring them to build clean APIs and systems that are flexible, simple and elegant

  • Ability to execute independently on a roadmap, lead and grow team members, and balance company objectives and foundational work.

  • Due to the cross-responsibility nature of this role it's important to have someone with strong communication skills, who is able to switch with agility between different levels of technical detail based on the audience.

About the team
  • Projects aimed at enabling Dropbox monetize new & existing products via a flexible pricing, packaging & payments platform, as well as through third parties via a flexible API platform. Furthermore, the mission to be the authoritative system of record for provisioning all features that customers expect.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making across teams, to set long-term technical strategy through sound architectural opinions targeting stability and flexibility. Ability to lead/mentor a cross-functional team in delivering on the long-term strategy, while also enabling short term business-critical outcomes successfully along the way.
