给dream school的dream professor发了套磁信，回复的很长可以保证不是模板回复，但是内容各种打击T^T

Thank you for your message and for your interest. I am certainly
happy to take on new students each year, and your interests do sound
very appropriate -- but, of course, the first hurdle is admission to
our PhD programme. On your chances there, I'm afraid it is very hard
for me to comment. Your CV looks fine, but much will depend on the
strength of your references and -- if invited to interview -- the
quality of our interactions. Admission to the programme is very
competetive. We receive over 100 applications each year, and make
only 3 or 4 offers.

I notice that you have attended the machine learning summer school
twice. It would be ideal if you could arrange to have one or more
references from a tutor or instructor at those schools (along with at
least one from your university). We often find it difficult to
evaluate references from countries where we have few interactions.
Thus, while we would certainly want to see an evaluation from your
home institution, if you can also arrange for one from someone whom we
might already know it would help us considerably.

我的理解是教授认为我的背景还可以，但是推荐信实在无力啊。。。Summer School那边我确实保持联系了很久但是人家因为没指导过我project硬是不肯给推荐信，国内小本又没什么机会接触国外的教授。。。
我还想回复争取一下，毕竟是dream school，那我应该如何回复呢。。。真的有这个要跪了的感觉。。。{:4_85:}
