[/align]To those interested in working with us[align="left"]The System Security Group at Indiana University Bloomington hasopenings for multiple research assistant (RA) positions and 1 or 2 Postdoctoralpositions. IU security is among the bestin the nation (7th according to csrankings.org)and the world (8th). Ourgroup is known to be one of the most productive system security teams in thepast 17 years in terms of publishing at leading security venues (s3.eurecom.fr). [/align][align="left"]In the past 14 years, IU system security has graduated 11 PhDstudents, all joining reputable universities (UC Irvine, IU, CUHK, King SaudiU) or prominent IT companies (Microsoft Research, Google, Samsung Research,Facebook, Amazon, PayPal, etc.). We have also unofficially advised studentsfrom UIUC, Georgia Tech, who joined the faculty of USC and IU, and students fromTsinghua and Peking University, who joined Alibaba and Baidu (USA), and hosted twopostdoctoral fellows, who are now Professor at Chinese Academy of Sciences, andprincipal software engineering manager at Microsoft. The group now has 11 PhD students(including 5 joining the group 2018) and 1 postdoctoral fellow and severalvisiting students and scholars. [/align][align="left"]The group is led by three IU faculty members: James H. Rudy ProfessorXiaoFeng Wang, Assistant Professor Xiaojing Liao and Assistant Professor LuyiXing. Dr. Wang is a well-known systemsecurity researcher, the elected Vice Chair of the ACM SIGSAC and the PCCo-Chair of ACM CCS (the flagship security and privacy conference of the ACM)2018 and 2019. Dr. Liao graduated fromGeorgia Tech and is the runner-up of 2018 ACM SIGSAC Dissertation Award. Dr. Xing just moved from Amazon to IU. He is known for his high-impact discovery andanalysis of vulnerabilities inside popular computing systems, includingAndroid, OS X, iOS, AWS. Our work hasbeen reported by mainstream media (e.g., CNN, Times, Forbes, Yahoo, 163, sina,etc.) for thousands of times and changed the way the industry built securesystems. [/align][align="left"]We are looking for motivated and capable applicants to fill 3-5 RApositions and 1-2 Postdoctoral positions in the following areas: (1) Large-scale, practical secure computing(based upon crypto and/or hardware TEE like Intel SGX), (2) Cybercrime study and (3) system security(vulnerability and code analysis on IoT, OS, blochchain, Web, cloud, fuzzing,etc.). Successful candidates areexpected to have backgrounds in one or more of the following domains: applied crypto,architecture/OS, statistics/machine learning, network or other relevant systemsecurity experiences. We also encourageboth graduates and undergraduates withgood academic records, solid programming skills and strong interest in securityresearch to apply.
