We invite applications for Ph.D. positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore in Semiconductor Devices and related areas:

The students will be supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Gong Xiao. The successful candidates will be offered a competitive financial package. The start date of the position will be Fall 2019.

Dr. Gong’s lab works on enabling a new generation of deeply-scaled transistors by employing high-mobility channels with the goal of extending Moore’s law to provide further value to semiconductor chips by incorporating functionalities that do not necessarily scale according to Moore’s law. Recently, he has also started the research into the emerging electronic devices and circuits to enable future AI technology.

Requirements:
(1) Applicant should have a Bachelor or Master degree of Physics, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or a related field. (not strictly required).
(2) Applicant should have a high GPA and a top ranking from key universities.
(3) Advanced knowledge and/or research experience with semiconductor devices is preferred but not required.
(4) For other requirements (e.g., GRE, TOEFL, IELTS), please check the NUS website.

In addition to regular NUS Ph. D Scholarship, there is one prestigious scholarship funded under AMAT-NUS Corporate Lab. The benefit includes: monthly stipend (S$3,500), book allowance (S$1,000), PC allowance (S$1,500), and conference allowance (S$4,000).
